On September 19, the U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Reform is holding its first hearing on D.C. Statehood in 26 years. This is the second date after the original July date was postponed to make room for Robert Mueller’s testimony.

The Ward 4 Democrats of Washington DC and Ward 4 Committeeman Todd Brogan are organizing our neighbors here in Ward 4 to turn out for this historic event!

We’ll have point people leading contingents from the Takoma and Petworth Metro stations. We will assemble at 8:45 a.m. at each station and depart at 9:00 a.m. sharp.

Takoma-based riders will get off at Judiciary Square. Petworth-based riders will get off at L’Enfant Plaza. We will assemble as one big group at the corner of 3rd and Independence Avenue and walk to Rayburn together from there.

The hearing will begin at 10:00 a.m. in Room 2154 in the Rayburn House Office Building and is expected to go until 1:00 p.m.

This post will be updated, but you should also RSVP to the event on Facebook to receive notifications when updates are posted.

Please join the Ward 4 Democrats at our March meeting for an important discussion with Democratic Party leaders! We’ll hear updates from Ward 4 Democrats President Candace Tiana Nelson, DC Democratic Party Chair Charles Wilson, DC Young Democrats President Marcus Goodwin, and DNC Director of African American and Women’s Outreach Waikinya Clanton.

The meeting starts at 7:00 p.m. at the Washington Ethical Society, 7750 16th Street NW in Washington, D.C.
